Often it’s the little things in developing countries – a little bit of knowledge, a trifling amount of money, a mosquito net, clean water – that go a long way in advancing human achievement and heading off negative impacts of mother nature.
The mission of the Opportunity Fund for Developing Countries (OFDC) is to open a channel of assistance to impoverished peoples of the developing world. OFDC empowers women through microcredit and training, educates children through sponsorship, and enhances health to all through bed net distribution and funding for water wells and latrines. All programs are village collaborative and culturally sensitive.
OFDC works side-by-side with villagers on locally identified problems to develop solutions that are felt long after we are gone. We currently are concentrating our efforts on Kenya. Past projects have been in Bolivia, Guatemala, Malawi and Nepal.
Our simple, first-step solutions to end poverty are funded through tax-deductible donations from people like you and grants from foundations such as Sollatek, Semnani Foundation, Sundance Family Foundation, Weyerhaeuser Family Foundation, Dr. Swanson Family Foundation, Iron Mountain Trust, Force for Good, John F. and Mary A. Geisse Foundation, Marusi Family Foundation and the A J Muste Memorial Institute.
